Mahama angry over Bawumia’s media engagement

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has lamented over Dr Mahamudu Bawunia’s encounter with the media on August 25, 2024.

He was disturbed that the strategy sought to shift Ghanaians’ attention from the NDC 2024 manifesto launch.

Frustration
Speaking at a campaign platform in Accra on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, Mahama expressed his frustration to party supporters highlighting his disgust about the turn of event.

“We announced that we are going to launch our manifesto on August 24, immediately our opponent also announced they are going to do a media encounter after our manifesto launch.

“You know the intention to do that media encounter the next day after we have launched our manifesto was to turn Ghanaians attention from the manifesto, that was the main reason,” he stated.

Prominence
Indeed, the media gave Bawumia’s media encounter prominence over the NDC 2024 Manifesto launch as major electronic media houses, online platforms and the newspapers on Monday morning featured most of the activities that took place at the media encounter compared to the manifesto.

This angered the NDC flagbearer who, during a campaign tour in Accra where he was supposed to communicate the party’s ideas and vision to the people, rather spent time to addressed the issue.
