Bawumia launches CitizenApp to boost transparency in Govt Services

The Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has introduced the CitizenApp, the official app for all citizens and residents of Ghana.

As a strong supporter of Ghana’s digital progress, he stated that the app will enhance access to various government services and provide important information to citizens instantly.

He mentioned that since 2017, under President Nana Akufo-Addo, the government has been on a path of digital transformation aimed at creating a better and more efficient future for Ghana.

This future will empower citizens through technology, boost the economy, create jobs, and improve governance for everyone.

Dr. Bawumia explained that the CitizenApp will make it easier for citizens to interact with government agencies, leading to more efficient and transparent processes.

A key feature of the CitizenApp is its Data Interoperability System, which enables different systems to share and use data effectively.

He emphasized that the app will facilitate smooth communication across various sectors by connecting different technologies and formats, allowing previously separate data systems to work together.

He encouraged all Ghanaians to adopt the CitizenApp.

The Data Interoperability System allows different applications and platforms to exchange and understand data easily, regardless of their technology.

This ensures efficient data sharing across multiple platforms without complicated integrations. For instance, in healthcare, this system could help hospitals, insurance companies, and pharmacies share patient information securely, enhancing service delivery.
