Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei has voiced his deep concern over the increasing political polarization in the country, calling for unity and tolerance among Ghanaians.

In a social media post sighted by Ameyaw Debrah Media, Prince lamented the rising trend of political insults and intolerance, particularly in online spaces. Expressing his frustration, he questioned what had happened to the once peaceful and united Ghana. He bemoaned how political divisions are tearing apart the nation’s democratic fabric, stating that it pains him to see Ghanaians resorting to insults and prejudiced attacks rather than engaging in constructive discourse.

Reflecting on past political climates, the actor criticized how individuals in the previous administration were unfairly targeted and vilified. He pointed out that many people, including religious leaders and state elders, remained silent while derogatory YouTube channels were created to attack others. He had hoped such hostilities would subside, but his disappointment grew while watching the 2025 State of the Nation Address (SONA) on UTV’s Facebook live stream, where he observed abusive language being used against President Mahama.

Prince David Osei called out media platforms, particularly UTV, urging them to take responsibility in moderating live comments to curb the spread of insults and divisive rhetoric. Acknowledging his own past mistakes, he expressed remorse but emphasized that the current trend of political insults is dangerous for Ghana’s future.

Despite facing personal attacks in the past, the actor stated that he remains unfazed by insults directed at him. However, he is deeply troubled by the growing culture of political intolerance among the youth. He urged Ghanaians to embrace respectful disagreements instead of resorting to personal attacks, warning that unchecked polarization could have severe consequences for the nation.

Ending his statement with a passionate plea for unity, he declared, “NPP or NDC be damned! God bless our homeland Ghana.”
