NDC seeking sympathy votes with fake assassination attempts

The NDC are faking assassination attempts on its leaders in a desperate attempt to court sympathy votes. In the last 48 hours, the party has reported two of such questionable incidents. There is also another, engineered by notorious former presidential staffer, Stan Dogbe, which is being pushed on social media.

Amenfi Central

In one of the fake attacks, the NDC alleged that its parliamentary candidate for Amenfi Central, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, was attacked by some people while on the way for a campaign event . But, the police , providing details, contradicted the allegations. According to the police, contrary to the reports that the parliamentary candidate and her team were attacked by unidentified assailants, the team rather came across a vehicle parked in the middle of the road at Adjakaa Manso and confronted the driver. The police said the confrontation led to a misunderstanding between some members of the team and the driver. Some members of the community joined in the misunderstanding, and that led to two people being injured.

Running mate

In another fake allegation, the NDC claimed the vice presidential candidate of the party, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang’s convoy was attacked in the Eastern Region on Friday, November 29. Police however said, it was rather a motorbike rider from the opposite direction who threw an object at the windscreen of one of the vehicles in the convoy.

John Mahama

For Stan Dogbe, he took to Facebook to post a phantom attack on John Mahama. He wrote: “Sending men and women to attack, shoot or harm the Man of the People, John Dramani Mahama, while on his tour of the Ashanti Region will not guarantee you a free ride to the Presidency…..”

NPP discredits allegations

The NPP had discredited the allegations by the NDC. One NPP activist posted on social media, “ Stan Dogbe thinks we are kids in this game. Nobody has any interest in attacking JM. For what really? This old method of garnering support or sympathies for contestants has long outlived its usefulness. It is fake, folks, so treat it with disdain.”
