NPP Govt. will unlock Damango tourism potentials – Napo

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Vice Presidential candidate for the 2024 elections, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh popularly known as Napo, promised residents of the Damongo Constituency that there would be significant investment in tourism if the party wins the elections on December 7.

He pointed out that Damongo is home to key tourist attractions like Mole National Park and the Larabanga Mosque, but noted that these sites have not received enough investment to maximize their economic benefits.

“I assure the people here that if the NPP wins, we will focus on improving the management of tourism resources in this area to boost tourism and create more jobs for the local economy,” he stated.

Dr. Prempeh made these comments during a campaign event in the Savannah Region at a mini rally in Larabanga last Thursday.

Before he spoke, the local Member of Parliament, Samuel Abu Jinapor, introduced him, praising him as “a hardworking, humble, and dedicated Ghanaian who cares about the country and its people.”

Dr. Prempeh argued that the constituents should support the NPP government and their MP, highlighting the free senior high school policy as a significant improvement in access to education.

He also mentioned that the creation of the Savannah Region, with Damongo as its capital, was a historic achievement that has brought development to the area.

He emphasized that investments in roads, schools, and other social services are making a positive difference for the community.

“When you vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the next president and keep your MP in Parliament, you will see more development,” he concluded.

When he took his turn to address the rally, Mr Jinapor said he was optimistic that the residents of Damongo would reward the good work of the NPP in the area with “a comprehensive and resounding” victory in both the presidential and parliamentary elections.

“It is few days to elections, and we will defeat the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and build here in Damongo, a party that will be dominant and win elections over and over again,” he said.

Mr Jinapor, who is the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, said the Damongo Constituency had become a “world bank and secure seat” for the NPP.

Mr Jinapor added that through the numerous infrastructure projects in the constituency, the NPP had banished the NDC from the area and made it a stronghold.
