Voting for NDC in December 7 is a wasted vote – Napo

The Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo, has cautioned voters in the Ashanti Region against supporting the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming elections.

He asserts that the NDC does not demonstrate a genuine dedication to the region’s development, suggesting that any vote cast for the party would be effectively squandered.

“We participate in elections to foster development,” Dr. Prempeh articulated. “If you choose to vote for a political party that does not prioritize your advancement, then that vote is wasted.”

Napo underscored that only the NPP truly represents the interests of the Ashanti Region and encouraged voters to lend their support to the party.

During a rally in Tweapeasi, located in the Odotobiri Constituency, he asserted, “The NDC is not dedicated to the meaningful development of the Ashanti Region.”

He highlighted that despite receiving substantial electoral support from the region in previous elections, the NDC has consistently overlooked its needs while in power.

Napo expressed his astonishment and discontent regarding the NDC’s perceived neglect of the Ashanti people.

“The volume of votes the NDC garners from the Ashanti Region during elections is considerable, yet they still regard Ashanti as a region that does not back them,” he remarked.

He further noted that the progress of the nation, particularly in the Ashanti Region, tends to stagnate whenever the NDC is in government, a situation he believes is intentional.

He claimed to have numerous examples illustrating how the NDC has implemented detrimental policies to disadvantage the Ashanti Region during their tenure.

As a significant instance, Napo referenced the introduction of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) by former President John Kufuor’s NPP administration, which aimed to enhance healthcare for the populace.

“However, as soon as the NDC took over leadership, they insidiously introduced capitation,” he concluded.
